The Brazilian M&A market remained active during the first eleven months of 2024, despite still facing cyclical challenges. During the period, the total value moved reached US$40.9 billion, surpassing by 211 billion the US$33.8 billion recorded in the year-to-date of 2023. This growth reflects the appetite for strategic and higher-value deals. Overall, there was a reduction in the number of transactions, from 838 in the previous year to 658 in 2024.

During the month of November, the technology sector gained a prominent position in Brazil, with 12 operations carried out and a reported transaction value of US$194 million. The energy and natural resources sector achieved the highest transaction volume in the period, with US$1.5 billion over 8 transactions, driven by the interest of international investors in Brazil.
